Oyam is an architecture and public art studio from the Pacific Northwest.
We partner with organizations, individuals and families to create spaces that strengthen cultural resilience - reflect values, hold meaning and serve communities for generations.
what guides our work
Long-Term Thinking
We begin each project by clarifying its purpose to create spaces that endure - serving, inspiring, and carrying meaning well into the future.
Honor the Place
We translate the patterns, histories, and complexities of a site into spaces that belong - connecting people to place and root the project into its surroundings.
Functional Comfort
We design for how people live, gather, work, and feel - because comfort and usability are essential to spaces that support lasting community.
Deliberate Craft
We apply curiosity, care, and refined skills to every detail and decision - ensuring each space feels right, performs beautifully, and endures as a meaningful expression of our craft.
Design in Dialogue
We believe strong design begins with listening. By asking questions, seeking understanding, and shaping ideas together, we create work that reflects our clients’ values, their communities, and our shared craft.

our process
Every project is a journey - we offer a step by step approach to help you understand what’s next, what’s needed, and how design decisions evolve from idea to built reality.
-
Is Oyam the right architect for your project?
-
What does a successful project look like to you?
-
What design options are you most excited about?
-
Do the big decisions, features, and systems align with your project goals?
-
Does the project meet regulatory standards and requirements?
-
Do you and your builder have enough information to accurately price and construct your project?
-
Are the built results aligning with your expectations?
